I need to replace a transformer on a light fitting

Posted by Peter Fagan, on
, it is a 105VA transformer oblong in shape with dimensions of 95mm x 45mm x 25mm. I am having a problem getting a replacement transformer that fits into the limited space in the light housing. I have been to several electrical wholesalers and tried online, but they all seem to be too long to fit in. Anyone have any suggestions ?

Change wattage GU5.3 lamps ( f.eg. 20 W) and then try use transformer 70VA. If present transformer feeds 2 x 50W bulbs , why not change configuration like : 2 x 35W or 2 x 20W and use transformer 70VA which is smaller than 105VA

Toolstation mate. They have the smallest ones and are the cheaper. Check the specs of the one needed by looking at the small charter in the screwfix catalogue.

Try RS components. Try stock no. Seven, one, four, one, three, nine, four. Please let me know how you get on!
