The oven doesn't work

Posted by Sally Gill, on
On investigation the wire from the cooker that is attached to a socket in the wall was loose. I thought about just tightening it up but then noticed the end of the wire, sleeve included, looked burnt. What could the problem be? Should I just clean it up and put the wire back in? Probably not wise.

Dear Sally I would suggest to post job description on main website if you do not feel confident to do it your self. Once you've posted a job with us and had a local tradesman quote, you should have been sent an emailed link to his profile. From here, you can read previous customer recommendations and ratings. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal

Hi, If the wire has been loose for a time, an arcing effect happens coursing the "burnt" look. I advise you get a qualified electrician to come and repair this and test it when complete to be safe. This is the sort of thing that can course a fire if not sorted out. It's getting hot "burning" and will only get worse. Regards Steve S&S Electrical
