Electric - is this the trade to install, or a plumber, as would need to be routed to mains cold?

Hi Maria, Generally, you will need both plumber and electrician. Unless you are lucky and can find someone qualified to do both. New showers circuits are done in 10mm2 cable. Don't let anyone use cheaper 6mm2. It will very likely be under rated for the load. It is notifiable work to install the electric circuit so use a "part P" registered electrician who can notify the LABC for you. regards Andrew.

Hi Maria . If you planning to install electric shower unit you need electrician and plumber . Electrician must connect power to shower unit accordance to current Regulations . It must be new circuit due to high power . If shower unit will be in new place where no water , you have to arrange plumber who will install water pipe connected to mains water . Power point for shower and water point will be at same location .
