Posted by Claire Hammond, on
We don't have much money. What is easy/inexpensive to fix or should be a priority? Report said ¬ insulation resistance too low ¬ Downlights installed in wooden floors/ceiling beams ¬ No firehoods on downlights ¬ Main earth conductor undersized ¬ Main bonding conductor undersized with incorrect earth clamp ¬ No 30 mA RCD for sockets, for bathroom equipment or cables buried in the wall ¬ Absence of circuit charts ¬ single insulated wire around consumer unit ¬ Old rewireable fusebox not suitable for insulation ¬ Only one socket circuit and too many cables in one fuse ¬ No grommits used at cable entry Thanks

Hi Claire, All of these observations you have listed will have had a code assigned to them, either C1, C2, or C3. The C1 codes are the most serious then the C2 codes and then the C3 codes are the least serious. All the C1 and C2 observations should be rectified to obtain a satisfactory installation. Hope this helps. Andy
