Faulty wiring? ?

Posted by Quinton Stenson, on
Kitchen, bathroom and living room lights not working, entrance hall light does work, They are all on the same circuit. The circuit breaker did not trip with the fault. I have removed bathroom and kitchen light fittings, wiring behind has scorch marks. Any help?

I suggest to start tracing lights circuit from fuse box . If circuit breaker did not trip it is mean light circuit is disconnected from supply . Usually disconnected circuit you can find in ceiling rose . So start check first ceiling rose which is usually closest to fuse box and then check next one . hope it help Bogdan Proton ( electrical service in London)

Hi If you feel confident do like Bogdan says but be careful not to mix up the switch wires when putting fittings back. Contact an electrician if in any doubt. You can find me on facebook if your in Lancashire and need help Thanks Russ
