Hard wired washing machine installation

Posted by Therese Constance, on
My washing machine is hardwired. Today it broke down and blew the fuse. Washing machine suppliers won't install a new one because it's hard wired. How do I get the electrics fixed and the old machine disconnected and a new one installed. What's the first thing I should do? I don't want to touch anything electrical myself for safety reasons.

Hi Therese, You need an electrician to disconnect the old washing machine and connect the new one back or if there is a flex outlet behind the washing machine, replace that flex outlet with a single socket so you can easily unplug the washing machine in the future. Regards,
