Running electric showers and cooker together

Posted by Dave , on
The shower in my original bathroom is 9.5kw (supplied by 10mm cable) and I want another 9.5kw shower downstairs in a new single storey extension. My home is a standard sized 3 bed semi with a recently built single storey extension. When the extension was built, the electric meter was moved and the electrician had to run 12 metres of 25mm2 meter tails to get to the consumer unit and he finally signed it off as 100A maximum capacity. The cooker is a double oven type rated at a maximum of 6.8kw. Other than that I just have the usual low powered appliances (lights, gas central heating, computer, printer, phone, etc.) Question is can I run the 2 showers and the cooker at the same time or if not what combination(s) are OK?

You have got 24kw when running both showers and cooker same time. 13A for every 3kw, you need about 100A and this is without taking into account other electric appliances. I recommend interlock the cooker with 2nd shower. That means if cooker is on, the shower doesn't work.
