Dishwasher Repair and move Electrical Socket

Posted by Joanne Andrew, on
My dishwasher (Hotpoint LST 216A slimline & integrated) has developed a fault, in that it won't spray water using the sprayer arms. It does fill with water in the bottom, and it drains the water away no problem. I have checked the filters - all clean, and checked that there are no kinks in the water inlet hose, though it still will not spray or complete a wash cycle. Online forums indicate that the fault could be related to the flow pump, thermostat or loose wiring. I can't see if there are any LED lights on/flashing which might indicate which fault it is, as the cupboard door on the front of the appliance obscures the view of the LED's. (I could probably unscrew this later to find out) At present, the electrical socket where my DW is plugged in is located behind my washing machine, which sits next to my DW and is very heavy (9kg drum). Would there be anyone qualified to fix my dishwasher & re-position the electrical socket so that it is above my kitchen worktop? I would like both these things done together as disconnecting the washing machine is a real hassle, which would need to be done in order to access the electrical socket. The job would also involve cutting a small groove in my worktop for the cables.
