What is the easiest way to replace halogen spotlights with led bulbs?

I've seen today that sales of halogen light bulbs are to banned from September. The house I live in has halogen spotlights in the kitchen, bathroom and dining room (put in by the person who owned the house before us). I've seen that there are equivalent led bulbs but reviews I've seen mention something about transformers or drivers. I know nothing about any of this, but would like to know the easiest way to do this. Can I get these transformers and if so, how do I install them? Thanks.
