Real wood flooring

Posted by Jody Snee, on
I have real wood flooring in my hall that I am planning on sanding. There are slight gaps between boards. What do you recommend filling it with?? Also what is the best stain to use? Thanks so much for any replys

Fill te gaps with the dust from the sanding mixed with resin making sure the gaps are thoroughly filled and there are no loose boards or blocks. I would use a wax-oil to stain the floor.applied correctly the finish looks great.

I would suggest that you leave the gaps as it will look awful trying to fill them and the colour will never match exactly

Hi jody,i would personally think about getting a flooring specialist in first to assess the work,as there are many different avenues you could take, and in the past when i have installed unfinished parqueut blocks or any other unfinished flooring,it as always been completed with 1 coat of bona traffic primer,2 coats of bona traffic sealer.the end result looks amazing.hope this helps, john, select floors

HI jody. I would strongly suggest a professional do this . My reasons are that you could end up paying more. regards Jeff
