Laminate flooring

Posted by Lionel Pritchard, on
I have an L shaped hall. From the front door approx 3m run to the wall then turns left for a 5m run to stairs and kitchen. The floorboards run across from the front door. Which way should I lay the laminate.

The actual F.I.T,A stipulation is light to light. However the fitter will suggest if they are qualified the best way. I did a job 17 metres long and then 9 metres after that. So i installed a flat threshold which in itself should thought. Look at my website and it will show regards

Hi Lionel I would go with the length of the hall running away from the front door as you open it that will give the appearance of a bigger hall and it will seem more inviting as you open the door . Hope this helps . Alan

Hi Lionel, as a floorer i always lay my flooring making the area looking the largest as you approach the room e.g if you enter your main doorway and the area is say 6x5 i would lay the boards going towards the 6 size .regards john select floors
