What is an effective way, preferably inexpensive, to prepare 1200 sq ft of decoratively textured concrete floor for 8mm laminate flooring. Thoughts so far are self leveling concrete, concrete grinder, or underlayment plywood

AS a qualified fitter goverened by F.I.T.A you need to ascertain the age of the property. Any property before !970 was deemed not to have and damproofing. There levelling and putting an underlay then followed by Laminate may cause issues. Your best bet is to post the job. Self levelling is the best solution depending on how deep the pattern I. but you can also buy underlay which is very flexible.
