Hi stefi I think you will have to persevere with chipping it up I'm afraid as putting a screed over it won't really work as putting over old adhesive might make the new screed fail. Hope this helps . Alan

I have removed my bathroom tiles, under which there is a thick hard cement like adhesive over those DIY electric mat things which I want to remove. I'm finding it impossible to chip away at it, without it taking forever. Any advice on removal? Or should I just put a screed over the whole thing? I don't really want to lose any more height though. Thanks!
