Hi there It's fine to have wood in kitchen prob is if there is a leak it can cause swelling and if you're sub floor is timber access can become a problem me personally when it comes to the bathroom and kitchen I always recommend vinyl as its fully waterproof and protects you're timbers and if they get damaged can cause £1000's of pound worth of damage if you're sub floor is concrete not an issue for record. All flooring is cosmetics underneath it is what holds the place together. Regards Andy

Hi Virginia personally I wouldn't recommend it a ceramic tile is a lot more practical and hard wearing. Ed
