Drafty floors

Posted by S C, on
I have a Victorian terrace, through lounge with sanded wood floors. Very nice but drafty. Any suggestions on how to insulate or draft proof the floors and keep wood floors, ideas on cost and type of trader I'd need. Thanks

Hi I think you mean there are just floor boards with small gaps in between them, but its been sanded and lacked or painted. if this is the case, at starling properties we sand down the floor boards and keep some of the clean wood dust from the sand machine. Then we mix the wood dust with the lack or the colour we are going to use on the floor. This will great a filler, then with filling knife we fill all the gaps with this mix and let it dry over night. Next day we give it light hand sand. Finally, lack all the floor with 2 more coats. Another method which is easier, but will not look as good. Find a matching colour wood fillers from the tubes.
