Transition Strip

Posted by Joan Kent, on
A floor was laid in a house we purchased with a transition strip down the middle of the eating area. It looks like they had carpet but then put in laminate but didn’t take up the whole floor and lay the laminate throughout. There is a bit of a different level between the floors how can I make this level and get rid of the transition without redoing the whole floor

If it's lower you can just build it up with the underlay, just pack it out and reduce the thickness until it's level you will have to take a lot up as it inter locks,if it's higher you will have to rip it up and relay it,I would use timbers and ply to level it all and put laminate on top ????
