Ive6 just spent a week on my hands and knees sanding my hallway floorboards. I can't use big heavy Sanders as disabled, so confined to good orbital hand sander and lots of 40 grit s paper.
BUT, thewlis is a council flat and the unprotected boards have taken a beating, not least because of my wheelchair.
The boards obviously haven't come from the same batch, and some are darker than others. In the entrance to sitting room they are several shades darker altogether and more worn.
Can I bleach my floors to get Scandinavian whitewash look I'm after? Or Lye soap? I have run out of money and more sanding won't rectify.
Please can you help. I'm so disappointed after such a massive effort and am running out of steam/money/enthusiasm.
