I'd like to lay a new lawn in my new garden; it has been neglected, bare in patches and full of stones/weeds. Is it too late to do this this year?

Hello Sharon, now is the best time of year to sow a lawn (spring is also good but autumn is best for a few reasons). Turfing provides you with a more immediate result but costs a lot more. First remove the stones by raking and kill all weeds using a systemic weed killer (like 'Round up') making sure you don't spray the surviving grass as well. I hope it all goes well for you Cheers, Craig

Hi Sharon thuis time of year is perfect to either turf or reiseed your lawn, as there is a good chance you will not need to water, best to remove all perenial weeds first and fertilize well.

Hello Sharon, September is the best month to turf ( April is also good) Seeding can be done but you will not get the immediate density that turfing provides. Once laid, water very well and keep off- 2 weeks is not too long. Only buy turf from a recommended supplier, quality is highly variable.
