We have 5' fence panels with concrete posts in between, across the bottom of the garden and behind a shed which was there when we moved in. The panels and posts however stop across the middle of the middle of the back of the shed leaving a 3 - 4 foot gap to the corner of the garden with no posts or panels. What we want is 6' panels across the bottom of the garden to screen the eye sore behind and give us some privacy and also stop their kids ball coming over the fence and him going through the gap to fetch it. The panels and posts look the same as around his garden. My questions are - whose fence is it by law and can we put a 6 foot fence up in front of his 5 foot fence with the concrete posts being only 5 foot? Has anyone ever come across this situation before and how did they deal with it. Thanks.
