What questions should I ask re: removing tree that has come down?

A tree has come down in storm - what questions should I keep in mind in employing a tree specialist/surgeon who will have to remove it?

Hello Kath, It depends what is actually concerning you. Are you concerned about the actual contractor or the job in general? Reputable tree specialists should be trained/qualified and have liability insurance, also they will dispose of the waste in a responsible way eg take it to a registered green waste site or to their own yard. Not dump it in the forest or a layby. The other answer given (Mark Leverton) covers questions about the job in general, so i wont repeat. One thing though if the contractor is going to chip the waste on site, you might want to ask to keep some chipping for your own use. Mulch or pathway. Regards, Phil

Hi Kath Will the price include removing/grinding the stump, if you have a open fire/ wood burner consider keeping the logs to season for next year which may impact the cost of removal but they may charge for cutting the logs into fire size lengths. It probably won't ,but If the tree has damaged the ground then will the price include ground repair . Hope this helps Mark Surrey Hills Landscaping
