Tree or shrub pruning

Posted by Carol Hardcastle, on
I have a large bay tree and some smaller trees and shrubs which I need shaped and pruned. When is the best time for this?

Hi Carol Mature bay trees can tolerate hard pruning, but are slow to recover and re-grow. This would be best carried out over two or three seasons in late spring. It's hard to advise on your other tree's and shrubs without knowing what they are but most trees and shrubs should be pruned during their dormant period. Hope this helps Mark Surrey Hills Landscaping
