Lawn laying

Posted by Jan Cowley, on
We have moved to a new property, the garden is a tip, only small but slopes down away from house, and needs building up to the level of the slabs surrounding the house, as we are on a tight budget is it possible to build up the slope with sand then topped up with top soil to cut down our costs?

Hello Jan, You should be able to source topsoil cheaper than sand and you should also be able to source 'as dug' soil (as in not the best quality but still useable for building up) cheaper than both. You're best not to use too much sand although some sand is good for drainage. I hope this helps, Craig Spruce Garden Services Edinburgh & Lothians

Hi Jan I would recommend to post a job on main website because some of a job needs to be seen before any advice is given. Our service is free of charge with no obligation quote and our tradesmans are happy to help with every aspects of jobs. If you post a job on Rated People home page then 3 companies will get in touch then you would be able to choose the right person as you would receive an e mail with a link to tradesman account where you would see a pictures and you will read revious from previous customers. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal
