Posted by steve Pearce, on
Tree Height Reduction - Insurance Cover: What sort of Insurance should a tree surgeon have (both towards employees and clients' property) - and do we take their written word that they are covered or ask for official documents? Thanks

Hi Steve they should have public liability and employers liability insurance, you could ask to see the certificate of insurace or for a letter of confirmation from their insurers. Ed

Ask to see a copy of the insurance documents, public liability and employers liability. The cover should be enough to cover the cost of damage in any one instance. Any decent company or sole trader should have no issues with letting you have see / have a copy.
