Autumn is a good time simply because there is less chance of a drought than if you lay in spring.New laid turf will need to be kept moist until it has taken root,this will mean daily watering in warm weather. You can lay turf almost any time of the year,but if conditions are too cold then it will just sit there until it warms up. Steve/Swiftsure
