Please advise what checks should be made on tree fellers.

The main checks are that the have the relevant qualifications and liability insurance. These qualifications are given as a certificate by either Lantra or NPCT. If they do not have these then they do not know safe tree working practices. At minimum they should have. - Basic chainsaw, cross cutting and felling. Climbing and aerial rescue. Chainsaw use from a rope and harness. And of course always ask for a copy of there liability insurance. I
