When is the best time of the year lay the turf
David Ramsbottom

Hi Mr King, Laying a lawn is easy if you pick the right time of the year. Autumn is particularly good because any new turf needs regular watering and must never dry out. It usually gets watered well in autumn and has chance to establish before the harsher frosts. Spring is also ok, however it is more difficult because it will need regular hosepipe activity and can therefore increase costs if you're on a meter. Additionally -if you're in an area that sometimes imposes a hosepipe ban, then the chances are its going to die off. Avoid the summer for obvious reasons. Get in touch if you need any further assistance, I would be happy to chat through any other questions, regards, David

Hello Mr king. Turf can be laid at any time of the year providing the ground is neither water-logged nor frozen. For instance, we laid some in December and it is looking lovely at the moment. The most important thing to remember is to keep your new turf well watered - never let it dry out. Good luck.
