Hello Betty The main reason is cost off fitting those systems. Electric underfloor heating is cheaper to fit compare to water underfloor as do not required manifold, pipes , pump , valves , connectors, meters of pipes etc and removal and refitting floor. ( Removal of floor boards etc). If your rooms ( bathroom and kitchen up to 10 sq m each ) are not very big I would advice you to get recommend loose wire system kit from one of the world’s best-selling electric underfloor heating brand. It sits between traditional methods such as matting systems and primer applications for loose wire systems. The installation method consists mainly of two tapes. A double-sided highly adhesive tape and a fibre glass mesh tape. The adhesive tape is put across the section of area where the cable is laid. This tape holds the wire during installation. Because it is double-sided and highly adhesive, installers do not need to use primer. The mesh tape is placed on top of the double-sided tape after the wire has been laid, securely fixing the wire for full contact with the subfloor. This ensures that the cable does not detach with mechanical impact or during the application of wet tile adhesive. It offers a highly adhesive tape which avoids the use of primer altogether. Underfloor heating good quality can reduce installation time by 50% when compared against the installation time of the current method using primer – saving you time and money! Most systems comes in sizes 3m², 4m², 5m², 6m² and 10m², with an output of 150w/m² and are BEAB approved. All systems are compatible with thersmostats and energy monitor so you monitor how much energy is consuming etc. Hope this can give you an roughly idea what to choose in a future. Regards Rafael
