Hi john. If you install a boiler in your own home its not against the law, but to make it legal to be signed off you would have tofind a gas engineer who is willing to do it.

Is it acceptable for a GasSafe engineer to quialfy a new boiler fitment if I fit the boiler?

I would say that it is difficult to find an engineer that would be willing to commission a boiler fitted by someone else. If they do it will cost has they take the risk by putting their name to it.
