Jayne, You only need a Gas Safe Certificate if you rent the property out and it is actually a Landlords Gas Safe Certificate, which covers all Gas Appliances, if you own and live in it, then you do not require a Gas Safe Certificate.

I am looking to get a gas safe certificate does this incurr a cost for each appliance ie. central heating, cooker and fire.
