Maximum number of radiators on a 15mm primary circuit ?

Posted by Sam Peters, on
I have heard that it is three or four, and if it were more than this, (eight), what effect would it have?

Hi Sam It would be most beneficial for the first part of the system to run in 22mm pipe then branch off in 15mm pipe work, as well it depends of your boiler capacity. Regards Steve

Hi Sam, 15mm pipe is capable of delivering 6kw of heat. each room should have its heat calculation demand worked out then choose the radiator with the correct heat output. if your house needs say 10kw of heat and your entire central heating is piped in 15mm pipe then it will never reach full heat. basically it depends on the size of the room and the radiator as too how many radiators you can supply on 15mm. It depends on the size of the radiators, the main concern is heat up times of the radiators due to the supply pipework size.
