Warm air heating engineer

Posted by Nataraju Potluri, on
Just had a plumber fix the leaking water tank in the loft and he inform me the flue for the warm air heating is broken & crack and therefore the warm air is going into the loft and not attached to the pipe going out of the loft. Is this dangerous ...and is it a big job replacing the flue? Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks

Dear Nataraju I would suggest to post job description on main website Once you've posted a job with us and had a local tradesman quote, you should have been sent an emailed link to his profile. From here, you can read previous customer recommendations and ratings. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal

That is class as I.D.: (Immediately Dangerous) Which means that appliance pose a danger and should be capped off until the repair is carried out and deemed safe by a qualified person. As for cost I couldn't say without seeing the problem.

This does sound very dangerous, because you might have toxic gases filling your loft space. to replace/repair the flue should take up to 4 hours to carry out plus the cost of new flue materials. I would estimate about £100 labour cost plus the cost of new flue pipe.
