As long as they were Gas Safe then they should know this in not as per manufactures instructions. Get the back to rectify or report to gassafe.
How far should a gas flue protrude out of the outside wall in a flat

We have just had a new boiler installed today and the gas flue now protrudes out of the outside wall by about 40cms ? I live in a top floor flat and it's the only one in the street that protrudes that far ?

Hi D 40 cms is very excessive and will be going against the manufacturer's instructions. Was the installer Gas Safe registered? If they are then they clearly need some further training. I would ask them to come back and re-do it. If they refuse threaten them by saying you will get Gas Safe to come and inspect the work. They will soon come running to rectify the work. Gas Safe will come out to inspect the job free of charge. Best of luck. Sam (eps)
