Kitchen and Utility share an internal wall which includes a chimney breast. Kitchen side has an open grate. Utility side has a (non-condensing) oil boiler.
If we decided to replace the boiler with a condensing model we would need a flue for that. Due to a combination of listed, conservation area and neighbour positioning, putting a new flue for a boiler through an external wall could prove tricky.
Are any of the following options?
1) Open grate remains, new flue for boiler goes up same chimney
2) Open grate swapped for solid fuel stove. Boiler and stove share a flue
3) Open grate swapped for solid fuel stove. Boiler and stove each have own flue up shared chimney
