Please help me ive had an engineer out to look at my central heatibg system and he says my pump is broken and my valve switch is knackered. My house incidentally is 6 years old and ive had an annual service every year.. For a new Wilo Gold50 pump to be installed and a new drayton mid valve actuator MA1 he has quoted me £400 fitted he said this would involve draining the whole system and shouldnt take more than 2 hours in total, yet someone else has told me that it can take up to three hours to drain system. house incidentally is a 2up 2 down, 3 bathrooms. Ive looked on screwfix for a guide price and the pump worked out at about £90inc and the switch looks like costing £60 he said the parts are guaranteed for 12 months but not his work as something else could go wrong not attributed to his work. Long story short ive had such bad experiences with plumbers I need someone to reassure me this sounds resasonable
