Removing old, wall mounted gas heater?

Posted by Glenn OConnell, on
Recently had central heating put in throughout house. One room used to be heated with an old, wall mounted gas heater. Probably put in in the 70s/80s. I believe it also vents directly to outside. It's not connected to any gas/water/electricity lines. Completely stand-alone. How do I go about removing this? I have a vague memory of someone telling me that inside it is likely some sort of liquid gas container. This can be taken out somehow, or when it comes to taking the heater off the wall, just being careful not to spill the liquid inside. Just prise the heater off the wall slowly. Since it's gas I thought I'd best do some research before ripping a heater off the wall. Any advice?
