Advice on gas fires

Posted by Rhona Ward, on
I am looking to install a new gas fire. There used to be a back boiler there which has now been removed. I had an electric fire and surround installed which has now broken.would like a new gas fire installed again. Not sure how to go about it. The existing hole etc is still there? As I've never bought or had a new one installed , I would like some advice please. as I do know it's more complicated than just going out and buying one and calling an engineer to fit. Thank you

The Chimney itself must be swept (advisable after a long period. A gas supply may still be capped in the "builders opening " and this can be utilised for the new fire. It is not that big a deal to do frankly. Good luck.
