Which boiler type is best?

Posted by Philip Ridout, on
I think we have a conventional boiler (Hot water cylinder and tank in the loft.) which needs replacing. On our current system the pump by the water cylinder is quite noisy and so is the pump in the shower. I understand if we went with a combi boiler we wouldn't need these pumps as they'd run of mains pressure? What are the boiler options and approximate cost?

Most boilers come with a good warranty these days , So it's basically your budget that dictates the boiler I personally prefer Vaillant to Worcesterbosche but a different engineer will give you different answer If your boiler is serviced properly and installed properly your boiler will last longer Having a combi or unvented cylinder is dependent on water pressure This should be checked when job is being quoted for

There are many great brands out there at the moment, vaillant and worcester are the wider known so people generally go for these but ideal have some good boilers as do others. Unvented cylinder with system boiler is best option for water pressure but a combi will free up your airing cupboard and is less maintenance . Hope that has helped

It depends on ur house really if it's suitable for a Combi system if not u can go for a new unvented system so u can lose the shower pump
