Kitchen

Posted by anne allen, on
I recently purchased a german ex-display kitchen with appliances , however a builder recently advised its more hassle tand costly to make it fit my kitchen and that I should go for a cheap magnet kitchen at trade price and keep the appliances only as it will be easier and fit perfectly. Not sure what to do as I'm on a tight budget.

Hi Anne, i don't think that the price of new kitchen and fitting is going to be less than just fitting an ex display kitchen, but a lot of builders will push you to buy a new kitchen , simply because it's less hassle and they still make these money. As long as you think, you can fit your ex-display kitchen units into your kitchen area , try to get more quotes from local kitchen fitters. Good luck Lukas

Hi Anne the problem with ex-display kitchens is the units you have determine the kitchen layout rather than getting the best design for your kitchen space, if the kitchen units are still being manufactured you maybe able to purchase some extra units to improve the layout. But that said I have fitted ex-display kitchens and ended up with a good job, it just depends how well the unit layout fits into your kitchen and how tight your budget is. Thanks. Ed.

Hello Anne, The service in getting advice/survey is free and you should get 3 tradesmen to quote so you should use it. Tradesmen pay for the opportunity to quote on your job. It is important to give tradesmen contacting you the opportunity to do so, the advice you receive is free. You are not obliged to use any of them. Regards Michael

Your best bet is to get 2 or 3 quotes from kitchen fitters to install the units you've brought and also ask them to quote for a magnet or similar quality kitchen.
