Fitting a new 5 burner gas hob

Posted by Michael Williamson, on
Fitting a 5 burner gas hob ( including a wok burner), do I have the correct gas supply? I am replacing an old 4 burner gas hob which is over 17 years old fitted when my house was built.

Dear Michael I would suggest to post your job on Rated People home page then up to 3 gas engineers will contact you to discuss details about a job Regards Rafal

Hi Michael The gas supply should still be sufficient as it is highly unlikely that you will have all 5 burners on at the same time but it is best to get a professional gas safe registered engineer to come and look at it. You must also bear in mind that the apertures of the 5 burner gas hob maybe bigger than that of the 4 burner so if there are wall cupboards close by this may be an issue. Also the worktops may need cutting to allow the new hob to fit. The pipe work to the gas hob must be rigid and have an isolation point on the gas line. The isolation is no use if it is hidden behind the oven as it won't be accessible. So if the oven in below the hob I would have the isolation point moved to the cupboard next door. Best of luck. Hi Michael The connection to your new stove may need to be changed but the gas supply will be ok. kind regards Ian

Hello Michael This should not be a problem. The feed that you have will be more than enough. Regards Michael.
