Damp smell in kitchen.

Posted by Eva Burgess, on
I had a washer-dryer leak which took a while to fix. My kitchen still smells of damp, including in a cupboard nowhere near where the leak was (the cupboard is up on a different wall to where the leak was). I'd rather not fit a whole new kitchen! What can I do - what kind of tradesman would I need to come and take a look?

hi there. Are there any other leaks?? with out looking there is a possibility that if the first leak was left unchecked it has now got into the plaster and has traveled between the plaster and the wall. if this is the case the damp smell could come out any where. Open and empty all the cupboards, take off the plynths and get your hands on some heated blowers, open the windows and in basic terms cook the kitchen. Or Remove cupboards, take plaster off and have it re-plastered. Ask a good builder.
