Maximum heights for cooker hood ducting in chimneys

Posted by Sarah , on
I have recently moved into a Grade 2 listed property and I want to put an integrated cooker hood into an existing chimney breast in the kitchen on the ground floor. Given its grading I would rather use the existing chimney stack to vent out (and would prefer not to use a re-circulation system), however the chimney is extremely tall (12m in length), would this be ok, or would i need a different solution?

Hi Sarah You might cause problems with condensation within the chimney if you vent directly into it, there might not be enough air movement to clear the moisture and then you could have big problems with salt deposits coming through the chimney
