Hi Nigel, Sadly it rings alarm bells for me if a deposit that has been paid isn't referenced on a final invoice for a job. I'm guessing the deposit was paid in cash with no receipt? Does the deposit amount plus the invoice amount match up with the original estimate or is the final invoice the estimate amount? My advice would be to ask them in writing to clarify the final invoice and to ask why the deposit amount is not shown, its much easier to prove what you asked and said when you have it in writing..
