I am having new solid beech kitchen worktops fitted into a flat - the original measurements for the worktops won't fit up the stairs into the flat. Can the worktops be cutdown and reconnected (tradesmen is reluctant to do this) Or is there a way to ensure adjusted measurements will fit up the stairs? The longest piece will be 240cm
