My architect designed my dormer loft with two 203x203x46 floor beams and one roof 152x152x30 ridge beam. However, my builder said the beams are over designed and the sizes can be a little smaller. My loft is 6m by 7m and 2.2m high, is the builder right? If possible, I want smaller size to save a little more headroom. What sizes do you normally use or recommend? Thanks
