Second Floor Construction: do you need to lay chicken wire over the joists of the loft floor before you put the knauf roll 100 mm down or just leave off the chicken wire? On the architects description it says " insulate between floor joists with 100 mm Knauf Crown acoustic roll (density 10 kg/m3) or similar approved, supported on light gauge reinforcement to provide 30 mins of fire resistance". Someone said it is optional and I can leave the chicken wire off and just use the knauf roll between the joists.
