whos responsibilty is it to provide dust coverings over furniture, carpets, wooden doors and light fittings and get rid of the rubbish created from the job.

Michael, These days unless agreed with tradesmen it is your responsibilty to remove any rubbish, due to the cost of getting someone to remove it to a tip. If the job requires furniture to be covered, etc. the cost of this should be included in quote for work. Bill
