Plasterboard behind kitchen cabinets

Posted by Tom Guest, on
Hi I'm going to put some insulation up against a single brick external wall. In front of this I will be installing some kitchen units. Is it ok just to put some plasterboard in-front of the insulation (with the joints taped etc) or do the boards need to be plastered?

hi this single brick wall don't attach any thing directly to the wall build a stud wall in front of , with a small gap , in other words don't let the timbers touch and pack off , fix polythene on top for a vapour barrier , then plaster board you don't have to plaster if the wall is going to be hidden be hide units , size of timbers you could get away with 2x2 . all the best Mick

Hi, Taping and filling joints will be ok but if you can I would get it plastered as this will make your wall harder wearing and the finish is far better. Stuart Aitken Get it plastered ltd
