Exterior render needs replacing?

The render on the front of our house (south west facing wall) is uneven and over 20 years old, showing signs of damp/mould stains. Damp is not evident indoors however. What are our options? Does the old stuff need to be removed before anything can be done?

It's best to get someone out to do a survey on it. If the old render is firmly attached to the house then it can be left on but in my experience the best option would be to remove and redo. Stuart Aitken Get it plastered ltd
