Hi Cheryl, I take by "fine lines" you mean cracks? If so, this is a worrying sign as it certainly should not be the case, however, cracks can be caused by any number of things, particularly changes in temperature or vibration...do you live by a busy road perhaps? I would suggest leaving it to settle for a few months and, as long as they have not got much worse, then filling them with a thin scraping of decorating filler and repainting. Good luck! Hi Cheryl common problem.The. Lines you see are. The edges of the plaster boards used on the. Walls and ceiling. Sounds like no scrim tape has been used on the joints beor fore plastering the only way to fix properly is to pva walls scrim joints and replaster. Regards woodbutcher3666 ie

Cracks shouldn't appear it sounds like it hasn't been scrimed the cracks need to be cored out and filled with easy fill then when dry sanded down&painted

Hi Cheryl, It depends on how bad the cracks are, if really bad fiba tape or scrim may not have been applied before plastering This will need doing, then PVA and a re-skim However if just hairline cracks you may just need to open them a little with a stanley knife and use agood filler before re-painting Regards Steve B

This should not happen but occasionaly does, what i usually recommend is that you run a stanley knife along the cracks then fill the cracks with polyfiller, leave to dry sand down to a smooth finish and repaint.
