Which would be the most suitable render

Posted by Robert Phillpott, on
Hi, We have a non standard built bungalow (1920's) lathe & plaster inside then a cavity & on outside timber struts with some cross pieces of timber,On top of this is wire mesh with render. The render is obviously very old & blown in many places & cracked. I would welcome any advice as to what would be the best way to deal with this & to bring this up to standard. Thank you

Hi Bob. If the building was built using lime then i advise you not to use cement. You need to use lime and there are two types. The use of lime will allow the repair to breath and will also move the same as the lime render around the repair. I have written this responce 3 times in more detail and it does not submit. If you want more info contact me or you can contact The Anglia Lime Company or The Lime Centre. Hope this helps. Good luck. Regards Colin

Hi Bob Everyone has knowledge to respond to a question but every trade person can do a job in different way. We always recomend to post a job on main website because some of a job needs to be seen bedore any advice is given. Our service is free of charge with no obligation quote and our tradesmans are happy to help with every aspects of jobs. I would strongly recomend to post a job on Rated People home page then 3 companies will get in touch then you would be able to choose the right person as you would receive an e mail with a link to tradesman account where you would see a pictures and you will read revious from previous customers. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal
